NOTICE TO BIDDERS BOROUGH OF MILLVALE, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Sealed Proposals will be received by the Borough of Millvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania until 1:00 PM on May 11, 2020 to be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter for the following project: 2020 HOUSE DEMOLITION PROJECT Base Bid 17 and 19 Friday Road: lot and block number: 118-L-303 and 118-L-304 243 Maryland Avenue: lot and block number: 79-G-362 This project includes the complete demolition of all structures located on each property, leaving the lot clean and clear of any items or debris. The scope of work includes removal all structures and contents including but not limited to offsite disposal to a fully permitted dump site provided by the Contractor; asbestos abatement and confirmation; verification that all existing utilities have been disconnected; capping of the sanitary sewer lateral per the Allegheny County Health Department Standard; compacted backfill of all void spaces; placement of 4” of top soil; site grading and restoration; complete in place. Add Alternate No. 1: 225 Sample Street: lot and block number: 118-P-200 Add Alternate No. 2: 726 Stanton Avenue: lot and block number: 79-B-334 Add Alternate No. 3: 23 Friday Street: lot and block number: 118-L-306 This project includes the complete demolition of all structures located on each property, leaving the lot clean and clear of any items or debris. All Proposals must be delivered to the Borough of Millvale Municipal Building at 501 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209 by 1:00 P.M. on May 11, 2020. Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words: “2020 HOUSE DEMOLITION PROJECT” Prevailing wages will be required to be paid on this project. Copies of Drawings, Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Forms of Proposals and Agreement are on file and open to public inspection at The Gateway Engineers, Inc., located at 100 McMorris Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 where sets of said documents may be obtained upon payment of $50.00 fee per set. Plans and specifications may be mailed for an additional $10.00 fee. No refund will be made for the return of any documents. Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Borough of Millvale in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. A Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be delivered once the statewide work restriction has been lifted (non-essential work shutdown) by the Governor. The Proposals must be made to the Borough of Millvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days. No Bidder may withdraw his Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting his Bid guarantee. Performance, Maintenance, and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement upon acceptance of the Proposal from the successful Bidder. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason, and reserves the right to waive any informality therein. By: Eddie Figas Borough Manager
