
BOROUGH OF WEST HOMESTEAD ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR NEW 8TH AVENUE SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS Sealed bids will be received by the BOROUGH OF WEST HOMESTEAD, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at the Borough Secretary's Office, 456 West Eighth Avenue, West Homestead, PA 15120, until 4:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, for WH-2021-2 New 8th Avenue Sanitary Sewer Improvements. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at approximately 6:15 p.m. The project consists of: A. Sanitary/Storm Sewer Separation B. Install Rain Garden and Appurtenances C. Excavate and Replace Existing Sanitary Sewer D. Restore Street Pavement Quantities not warranted. Refer to Specifications and Drawings for complete information. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked Contract Number WH-2021-2, New 8th Avenue Sanitary Sewer Improvements. A prebid meeting will be held at the site on May 4th 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Sets of the plans and contract documents may be viewed at the Borough Secretary's Office, Borough of West Homestead, 456 West Eighth Avenue, West Homestead, PA 15120, during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m., prevailing time. Interested bidders may obtain sets of the plans and specifications for $75.00 each from Borough Secretary's Office, Borough of West Homestead, 456 West Eighth Avenue, West Homestead, Pennsylvania 15120. Sets will be shipped upon receipt of an additional $25.00. Each proposal shall be accompanied by certified check payable to West Homestead Borough, or a bid bond in favor of West Homestead Borough, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the proposal. The bid surety must be approved by the Borough and authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The value of Bid Bonds must be stated in DOLLARS AND CENTS. West Homestead Borough reserves the right to waive any formalities or informalities, or to reject any or all bids. No bid surety shall be waived or returned because the bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the contract documents or any applicable statutes of the United States, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or West Homestead Borough. Work under this contract be subject to the requirements of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act as amended. All bidders must demonstrate ability to perform the required work. No bid may be withdrawn for 65 calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. All excavation is unclassified.
